Coffee, Tea, Red Wine, and Chocolate for Better Health and Wellness

According to research, a majority of us drink at least one cup of coffee per week. Per week? Are you kidding me? I cover at least 14 people; I have two a day. Less than half of all Aussies have one cup of tea a week. Again, these numbers are nonsense. One cup a week?

What kind of study provides those results? However we slice it, half of us prefer tea, and the other half coffee. Either way, we are getting the benefits from caffeine and phytonutrients. Fight-a-who? A class of 25,000 compounds found in certain vegetables and plant-based foods.

These compounds are our friends and reduce cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and diabetes and contain anti-cancer properties. Ready for that second cup yet? A healthy dose of caffeine is 400mg per day, according to the FDA. However thick your brew is will determine how many cups you’ll need, but 4-5 on average.

The difference between white, green, brown, and black tea is the oxidation amount. The longer the oxidation the darker the tea and deeper the flavour. I like chai tea, and many people enjoy premium matcha tea in Australia. Have you tried Thai bubble tea with tapioca pearls?

Yarra Valley tea is well known as Quanta Airlines’ main tea. The variety of herbal tea is mind-blowing. There seems to be a flower that can be steeped to remedy nearly any ailment.

I fell in love with tea in the UK but learned how to drink tea in Japan. My Japanese friends told me there are three boiling stages when boiling water for tea. In stage one the bubbles gather on the surface of the water kettle. Stage two the bubbles float up. Stage three is rolling boil and the water is burnt. Always make your tea with stage two water for the best-tasting tea.

If you want to include more of those phytonutrients into your diet and fight off those mentioned diseases, you can find them in; Red Wine, Chocolate, broccoli, cauliflower, leafy greens, cabbage, strawberries, grapes, apricots, pumpkins, carrots to name a few. This list had me at coffee, red wine, and chocolate.

Lift another cup for yourself, and pour one more for your friends, their health and wellness.
